The M.S. in Industrial and Organizational (I/O) Psychology program at Albizu University, Miami campus, offered on campus as well as fully online, prepares you to be a culturally competent I/O practitioner who develops and applies scientific knowledge to solve problems in the workplace. You will graduate with practical training in the areas of selection and placement, training and development, performance measurement, organizational development, and quality of worklife.
The fully online program allows you maximum flexibility and convenience in pursuing your educational goals. The faculty members are active professionals who provide you with a working understanding of theories, research, and practice in the field of I/O.
The program is committed to giving personal attention to your professional growth throughout the course of your studies. Opportunities to engage in applied research and/or capstone projects offer an experiential component to your training. Students in the program have published their research findings in professional journals.
Requirements for this degree include 42 academic credits, 6 applied research/capstone projects credits, and a cumulative GPA of 3.00.
Graduates of the program do not have licensure requirements in the United States.
According to a 2014 report by the U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics, positions in industrial and organizational psychology are expected to increase by 53.4% from 2012 to 2022, placing trained I/O professionals in high demand.
I/O practitioners typically find employment in public and private industries, educational institutions, and government agencies in the following areas:
